The group frequently entertains the residents of Care &
Residential homes, and likes to support charities in
the local community.

Over the past few years our favoured charity has been
a local charity which enables disadvantaged, disabled and elderly
people (and their carers) to have canal holidays on their
purpose-built canal boats.
In the spring of 2008 “7-in-a-bar” cruised from Newbury to Great Bedwyn, singing and collecting at canal side hostelries en-route. They organised a musical event for each end of the trip and at the end of the week-end over
£ 10,000 had been raised for this very worthy charity.
